Say NO to Higher Taxes on Illinois Families
Before the spring session ended, Democrats in Springfield proposed a $1.50 delivery tax on nearly every package dropped at your door—from diapers to groceries to dinner after a long shift. They didn’t stop there. They floated a new service tax on everyday needs like haircuts, home repairs, and childcare, and even pushed for a mom & pop tax on digital ads that would hit small businesses trying to stay afloat online.
We were able to stop these regressive taxes—for now. But make no mistake: they’ll be back.
Why? Because instead of getting spending under control, Governor Pritzker and his allies continue to grow government at an unsustainable pace. In just six years, the state government spending has grown by nearly 40%—and Illinois families are being asked to pay the price.
These tax proposals don’t fix roads or improve schools. They’re not about investing in communities across Illinois. They’re about bailing out Chicago’s broken transit system and papering over years of mismanagement and misplaced priorities.
Let’s be clear:
It’s not just bad policy—it’s a slap in the face to working families, seniors, and small business owners already stretched to the limit.
The people running our state aren’t looking for smarter solutions—they’re looking for more of your money. And unless we speak up now, these dangerous ideas will become the new normal.
